general-narrowborder-v2
Thank you to everyone who voted in our Home Design Blogger Awards 2014. The response was fantastic, and we hope that you have found inspiration from the excellent work of all the citizen journalists shortlisted for this year’s awards.

And now, the winners! (Drumroll)…

Sarah Akwisombe

Our overall winner of the title Home Design Blogger 2014 is Sarah Akwisombe, of www.sarahakwisombe.com. She not only received the most votes to top the poll for the Affordable Design Award category, but also most votes in the competition overall. Sarah says she is obsessed with antiques, vintage furniture, interior design, and period styling, with a particular love of (bits of) Art Deco and mid-century modern. Her blog is a collection of mood boards, her own efforts at creating her perfect home, affordable room makeover ideas, DIY and decorating tips, and much more. The judges and public were impressed with how she couples her eye for design with genuine affordability, and so we are delighted to award Sarah with her badge and a prize of £250.

Judges’ Choice Award

In addition to the four categories voted on by the public, we also have the Judges’ Choice Award. This is our opportunity to recognise emerging blog talent by highlighting a newer blog which stands out in the field of interiors and home design. This year, the Judges’ Choice Award goes to Claire Archbold of stylearch.co.uk. Claire started the blog in September 2013, but already she has built it into a wonderful source of ideas and inspiration. Her regular Wallpaper Wednesday posts, focus on colour inspiration, eye for accessories, and well curated posts make this blog a pleasure to browse.
