We recently surveyed 2,000 men in the UK regarding their bathroom habits. The findings were somewhat shocking, revealing that nearly half (44%) of Britain’s men are actually using women’s beauty buys instead of their own.
Ever wondered why your products run out so quickly?
Only 1 in 10 men actually admit to the female owner each time they reach for their toiletries. The 2,000 men surveyed have revealed that they rarely or never tell the owner if they are using their cosmetics. Time to get a lockable bathroom cabinet!
Almost half of men are in it for the thrill of experimenting and the sensation of smelling like a tropical goddess. Our less sweet-scented males (an alarming 43%) are just stealing women’s toiletries because they have run out of their own – cheeky!
Guys aged 25-34 are the most likely culprits, with over half saying that they use women’s products more than once a month. However, it seems like these bathroom bandits are also the ones who are being most honest as they are almost twice as likely to admit to the owner, than men aged 55+.
CEO and Founder Ian Monk said “It’s great to see that men are open to experimenting with women’s products like shampoo and body wash, whether they are proud to say it or prefer to keep it a secret! At Bathrooms.com we believe that the bathroom is a place to relax whether you are a metrosexual merman or a simple soap and water kind of guy.”
The survey also reveals that it is engaged men, using their female partner’s products the most. It seems as though putting a ring on it, comes with the entitlement to share toiletries – maybe something you should think about adding to your vows!
Top five women’s products men use:
1. Shampoo (57.40%)
2. Shower gel (37.45)
3. Conditioner (29.45%)
4. Bubble bath 20.8%)
5. Body cream/moisturiser (13.10%)
