Because of our links with so many superb bathroom installers, we’re pleased by the new research from The Bathroom Manufacturers Association. Known as the voice of the bathroom industry, the BMA recently conducted a study along with the independent market research agency, Eureka! Research. Focusing their attention on installers, namely those who had recently installed new bathrooms for homeowners, the results highlight the influence a reputable bathroom installer has on a homeowner as they move through the bathroom journey.

UK Bathroom Installers Are Providing Great Customer Experience

Homeowners cite their installer’s advice as being the most useful when it comes to research methods.

Many installers are planning their customer's bathroom from start to finish. A quarter of installers design all the complete bathrooms that they install, while 70% design at least half. In fact, only a mere 3% of bathroom installers don’t have any involvement in the bathrooms they install.

Bathroom installers are key to supplying all the essential products needed to complete a new bathroom.

As much as 25% of homeowners are choosing the retailer recommended by their bathroom installer.

A staggering amount of bathroom installers, 95% to be exact, find their customers are more than likely to seek out their advice about the shower category. This includes shower screens, shower trays and shower controls.

44 % of installers say their preferred choice of retailer for supplying domestic bathroom products is the independent sector. Furthermore, such decisions are highly influenced by as much as 53% by good social interaction and relationships with such retailers. This is especially so with those retailers offering good credit limits, discounts, easy return processes, and quality after-sales.

Those retailers boasting a good range of products will be recommended by a third of installers, while 13% place a great showroom at the top of their list when recommending a retailer.

Though around 28% of installers actively recommend water-efficient products to customers, there’s still some progress to be made. With 13% of bathroom installers claiming there’s no interest in such products, some further consumer awareness is needed for further development here.
